Reuben Keith Green is a retired naval surface warfare officer who served 22 years in the Atlantic Fleet. from 1975-1997. He spent 10 years in the enlisted ranks before obtaining his commission via Officer Candidate School in 1984. He qualified as a steam and gas turbine engineer and served as a Tactical Action Officer (TAO) in the Persian Gulf and as the executive officer in the Hydrofoil USS GEMINI. He is the author of Black Officer, White Navy, about his service in the military, and several other articles that pertain to minority service in the military. He can be found on LinkedIn, but he is not on other social media.
